First, a few words
Exploring ideas, shaping stories, and building the future of content
I’ve been navigating the ever-evolving world of digital journalism since the late ’90s—back when local newspapers relied on AppleScript and FTP to function (yes, it was as magical as it sounds). These early experiences set the stage for a career built on curiosity, innovation, and a passion for storytelling.
Fast-forward to today, and I’m diving deep into generative AI, exploring cutting-edge ways to share ideas and content. As AI Editor at Tom’s Guide, I aim to stay ahead of the curve, whether that’s testing the latest tech or experimenting with how we communicate complex ideas to a global audience.
When I’m not writing or editing, I’m an experimentalist at heart. I take on personal projects—building apps and games—to truly understand how emerging technologies tick. It’s hands-on, often messy, and always rewarding.
On the family front, I’ve been married to Samantha for 24 years, and we’ve built a bustling household with five amazing children and two delightful grandchildren. Our family life is loud, loving, and always a source of inspiration (and maybe just a little chaos).
Adventures in AI Land
Adventures in AI Land is my YouTube channel where I experiment with and share a range of generative AI content, particularly in the AI video space. This includes short films, music videos, how to guides and more.

I’ve been a journalist for more than 20 years but most of my work was at the BBC where I didn’t get a by-line. You can find all my by-lined writing including for the Daily Mail, TechMonitor and Tom’s Guide on Muck Rack.
AI is the most important technology that humanity has ever worked on. I think of it as something more profound than electricity or fire.
